Paige Rutledge is 18 years old from Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Paige has been singing ever since she could talk and grew up singing country superstar Shania Twain.
In 2007, Paige's grandfather became very sick and almost
everyday she would go over to his house and sing to him and then when he passed
away when she was nine years old, she sang at his funeral. He is her true inspiration for music and has helped
shaped her musical style to country music. Over the past couple years Paige have got
to experience and learn a lot in her music career. She has taken part in
competitions such as the Rising Star located at the Exhibition in Toronto.
Paige also really love writing music. Paige already has released 3 singles on iTunes and just this May released her 4th single "Dead Flowers". Some of her favourite country artists today are
Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan and Tim McGraw.
Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift are two of Paige's biggest influences in country
music. She admire Taylor Swift’s writing ability and Carrie Underwood’s vocals.
Aside from singing and writing music, Paige also play
guitar. She loves playing guitar because Paige feels like it is a different way to
connect with the audience especially when it is a really powerful song with
just yourself and the guitar. Paige loves performing. She goes to an open jam night
every Wednesday near my house and it is cool because it means that I get to
perform every week. Paige really enjoys being able to connect with the audience when she sings. She loves being able to see people feeling the emotion throughout the song
and singing back to me.
Singing and writing music is something very personal
for Paige as she feels it is her way to express herself and its definitely something Paige loves and hopes to continue sharing with others.
